The Forcast-Tantrums With Some Pain

Our last conversation was weather based or more to the point the lack of summer so far, so how ironic it was that the best day for a BBQ, had the wee one and I on a bus to Glasgow, as the law enforcer aka the chief prosecutor aka the wife was on call for her work, that sadly means missing out on most of the weekend and not joining in the adventures to be had! So the best day in a number of long bad days, had the wife stuck in the house and us on a bus!!

On Saturday morning it was up early a scramble to get ready a grumpy toddler not wanting to get going and time running out to make our bus. So just as well the horror thoughts of everything that go wrong on an away day with a toddler ran through my mind the night before to which the normal reaction of panic packing took over so a carrier bag of essentials became a suitcase of everything you might need for a safari.
Two minutes to spare and we were on the bus on our way to Glasgow to visit pops, who as some you will know, is currently recovering from breaking his back in the Southern General, the bus left Edinburgh and so our safari had started.
The journey went well apart from the wee ones dummy (comforter) flying down to the front of the bus,

no worries when the bus stopped we would recover that little problem and with plenty to see from the safari bus the wee one was not too bothered for the time being.
However of all the horror thoughts the night before this was not even in the top 100 and as if someone somewhere was trying to prove even with the best planning you will miss something, the dummy disappeared out of the bus using a wee gap at the door as its escape route.
Yep a suitcase of supplies but not one extra dummy and no shops for miles of the hospital, or certainly no shops that would have such an item as normal stock.
The consequences of this scenario up till now had remained as tested as a North Korean missile.
The wee one seemed to be caught up in the adventure of the day because even when the bus journey was over there was little fuss if any over the loss of her dummy.
I had been planning a dummy snatch for months and had tried on several occasions to execute the dummy snatch with little success, so along came fate and promptly showed me just how easy it was to deliver the desired result, so we are now dummy free without the pain and tantrums I had been planning for, What a result! Well done fate! Well nearly!
Sadly it only turned out to be a battle won and not the war though as the wee one makes a last stand at bedtime oh well at least we have a mini result!
On the Sunday we took the wee ones mum and Hurricane Billy aka the grandson to catch the train to Fort William and from there we went on to visit pops.
The morning started off badly and we were running late, so as you can imagine humour levels were set to low on the fun meter. Thankfully we made up time thanks to luck and just a hint of lead in my driving foot. Now for any of our fine police officers or other law enforcers out there doing a fine job...okay grovel over... this is not an admission to breaking our road laws!!!
The daughter caught the train and Hurricane Billy is now making his way to Fort William undetected, the warning systems have missed this storm yet again, here's hoping it is only at force 5 or 6 because if it hits force 10, the family could be left in a state of shock and insurance companies just might not pay out.
So it was on with our day and as we left the hospital to head home the wife pulled a phone out of her pocket and pondered as to whose it could be as it was certainly not hers.... had the law enforcer broken the law?
No it was the daughters phone, and like any young adult these days it is her life and comforter, a bit like the wee ones dummy in away. The difference between the wee one and her mum though, is that there will be temper tantrums and pain, but thankfully we will not hear them as my daughter is too far away!!!!

AND FINALLY
We returned home on Sunday after only a few short hours away to find the ASBO gardener had struck in our absence, he must have been some soldier because his use of stealth tactics would have many a General cooing in admiration.
So that left me on the verge of temper tantrums and pain,,, okay a few miles south of the verge or to be more precise completely hoping mad, making it a full house on my gene side of the family!!!
